Health insurer Level Health said today it will increase the price of some of its plans from December 1, with prices going up by an average of 4.5%.

But Level Health, which is backed by insurer Aviva, said its Plan A will not increase in price and will remain at €419.88 (including a 10% online discount) for anyone age over 26.

The health insurer said that as the price adjustments do not come into place until December, customers who take out a policy or renew their policy anytime between now and then can benefit from existing prices.

This will offer certainty and predictability for their health insurance costs for the following 12 months, it added.

Jim Dowdall, CEO of Level Health, said the company is acutely aware of the rising cost-of-living pressures faced by household.

“We work hard to keep any increase in the cost of our health insurance plans as low as possible. These price increases are necessary to cover the increased cost of healthcare, which continues to increase year on year,” he added.
