Nutrition supplement maker Glanbia said today that its Chief Financial Officer Mark Garvey plans to retire from the group after 13 years in the job.
Mark Garvey will step down as CFO and from the Glanbia board at the end of March 2027 and will retire from the group at the end of April 2027.
Glanbia also said today that Wendy Chang Smith, currently Chief Digital & Transformation Officer, will be appointed Glanbia CFO and an executive director on the company’s Board on March 31, 2027.
With effect from today she takes on the role of CFO Designate of Glanbia.
Ms Chang Smith was previously CFO of Glanbia’s Performance Nutrition segment. Before joining Glanbia in 2020, she held senior finance positions with Amazon, Kellogg, Johnson & Johnson and Proctor & Gamble, working in the US, Europe and Asia.
Hugh McGuire, Glanbia’s chief executive, said that Ms Chang Smith’s experience will be invaluable as the company continues to execute its strategy, invest for growth and maintain its strong focus on financial discipline and delivering long-term value for shareholders.
“I would also like to warmly thank Mark for his outstanding leadership and significant contribution to Glanbia over the past 13 years,” Hugh McGuire said.
“He has led the financial stewardship of the group through a period of significant change with a strong focus on disciplined capital allocation and cash generation that has enabled Glanbia to invest in growth and deliver strong returns to our shareholders,” he said.
“Mark leaves Glanbia on a firm financial footing, with an exceptionally strong balance sheet and well positioned for the future,” he added.
