Members of the Financial Services Union (FSU) working in IT company Kyndryl are to be balloted for industrial action.

Kyndryl provides IT support and maintenance to Irish companies including Bank of Ireland.

The FSU has accused Kyndryl of not honouring a collective agreement on redundancy terms for transferred employees.

Ballot papers are being issued today and the ballot will close on Wednesday 19 August.

If the ballot is passed, a decision will be made at that stage on the nature, timing, and duration of any action.

“It is unfortunate that the intense discussions that have taken place over the last number of weeks did not resolve the issue,” said Caitleen Desetti, Industrial Relations Organiser with the FSU.

“Our members are adamant that the FSU collective agreement needs to be honoured.”

“The FSU will continue to engage with Kyndryl management to try to resolve this matter, and we implore them to honour the terms that transferred with staff and avoid unnecessary disruption to customers and services like those for Bank of Ireland,” Ms Desetti said.

In a statement, Kyndryl said it is continuing to engage with the Financial Services Union regarding the matter.
