McCabes Pharmacy has agreed a deal to buy Kinvara Pharmacy in Co Galway.
As part of the group’s continued growth and acquisition strategy, the deal marks McCabes Pharmacy’s first branch in Co Galway and brings its national pharmacy network to 111 locations across Ireland.
Kinvara Pharmacy has operated as an independent, family‑owned pharmacy since 1990, led by Superintendent Pharmacist Sinead Dempsey.
Over the coming months, the pharmacy will be rebranded as McCabes Pharmacy.
Brian O’Keeffe, Managing Director of McCabes Pharmacy, said today’s deal underscores the group’s strategic vision of expanding the McCabes Pharmacy retail footprint across Ireland.
He also said it represents an important milestone as McCabes extends its brand presence to Co Galway.
“We are delighted to welcome them to the McCabes Pharmacy network and remain fully committed to maintaining the personalised, patient‑centred service that the local community expect and value,” he added.
Sinead Dempsey, of Kinvara Pharmacy, said that joining McCabes Pharmacy allows the team to continue serving its customers while staying true to the values it has built over the past three decades.
“Being part of a larger pharmacy group brings enhanced support and access to expanded services and products, which will ultimately benefit our customers and the wider Kinvara community. We’re very positive about the opportunities this partnership creates,” she added.
