Farra Marine, an Irish supplier of services to the offshore wind farms, has sold a majority stake to a major infrastructure investor called Infracapital.

The deal has seen the Irish company raise new equity.

Farra Marine has not said how much money has been invested by Infracapital but it has been reported it was seeking €40m in new funds.

The Irish company supports the construction, operation and long-term maintenance of offshore wind assets in Europe.

The firm was founded by Martin Rice in 2020 and operates a fleet of 15 vessels in the UK, Germany, France, Denmark and the Baltics.

Farra Marine has close to 100 staff.

The vessels transport technicians, engineers and equipment to offshore wind farms across Europe.

They enable crews to safely keep wind turbines operating from initial construction through a 30 year life cycle.
