(<u>GOOG<\/u>) is a global technology company offering a wide range of products and services through its subsidiaries. It operates through Google Services, Google Cloud, and Other Bets segments, providing solutions in areas such as search, advertising, cloud computing, consumer devices, and healthcare. GOOG is expected to release its fiscal\u00a0<u>Q1 2025 earnings<\/u> results on Thursday, Apr 24.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of this event, analysts expect Alphabet to report a\u00a0<u>profit of $2.04 per share<\/u>, up 7.9% from\u00a0<u>$1.89 per share<\/u> in the year-ago quarter. The company has surpassed Wall Street&#8217;s bottom-line estimates in the last four quarters. In addition, EPS is expected to grow 14.7% year-over-year to $10.17 in fiscal 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"aspect-ratio:940\/617;\" src=\"https:\/\/barchart-news-media-prod.aws.barchart.com\/SANDP\/13071cdb1bbce73320ece8d45cd2bd0e\/k7jhbj1eiu6z77yz.png\" width=\"940\" height=\"617\"><figcaption><u>www.barchart.com<\/u><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><u>Alphabet has risen marginally<\/u> over the past 52 weeks, underperforming the S&P 500 Index's (<u>$SPX<\/u>)\u00a0<u>2.8% gain<\/u> and the Communication Services Select Sector SPDR ETF Fund's (<u>XLC<\/u>)\u00a0<u>11.5% increase<\/u> over the same period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"aspect-ratio:940\/625;\" src=\"https:\/\/barchart-news-media-prod.aws.barchart.com\/SANDP\/13071cdb1bbce73320ece8d45cd2bd0e\/ofidw0vquwsfhr4f.png\" width=\"940\" height=\"625\"><figcaption><u>www.barchart.com<\/u><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><u>Alphabet\u2019s stock fell 2.3%<\/u> on Mar. 18 after the company announced a\u00a0<u>$32 billion all-cash acquisition<\/u> of cloud security firm Wiz, its largest deal ever, which raised investor concerns about overpaying. Investors were also wary because Alphabet increased its offer by nearly 40% from last year\u2019s bid, despite Wiz only generating $500 million in annual recurring revenue. Investors were also uneasy about the large spending amid heavy AI investment needs.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, analysts'\u00a0<u>consensus view on Alphabet stock<\/u> is bullish, with a \"Strong Buy\" rating.
