Bloomberg has announced plans to double its Irish workforce by the end of the decade.

The business, technology, and financial information company has already more than doubled its staff numbers in Dublin over the last 12 months to 190.

Bloomberg said it is embarking on a significant expansion of its software engineering and data operations in Ireland, with two new senior hires to lead the next phase of the company’s growth.

Amanda Brady joins as Director for Ireland, and Richard Norton will become Head of Engineering for Ireland.

The company opened its new office in Dublin in late 2025, consolidating two previous sites into a single purpose-built hub that is Bloomberg’s largest in the EU.

The new Dublin office was officially opened by company founder Michael Bloomberg.

Amanda Brady, Director for Ireland at Bloomberg, said the company is seeing an increasing demand for the services and solutions it provides.

“Ireland’s depth of home-grown engineering and STEM talent has made Dublin a natural home for our operations, and I’m really excited about our long-term plans for Dublin and beyond,” Ms Brady said.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed the expansion plans.

“Digital and technological services are crucial for future-proofing our economy and this announcement is evident of that,” Mr Martin said.

Michael Lohan, CEO, IDA Ireland, said Bloomberg’s decision to further expand its Irish operations is a strong endorsement of Ireland’s position as a leading location for global technology, data and financial services companies.

“This investment will strengthen Bloomberg’s engineering, product development, and enterprise data capabilities from Dublin, creating highly skilled roles and building on Ireland’s deep pool of STEM and technology talent,” Mr Lohan said.
