{"id":45906,"date":"2026-08-15T00:23:02","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T04:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sharewatch.com\/wp\/2026\/08\/15\/ekco-invests-e4m-in-ai-security-platform\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T00:23:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T04:23:02","slug":"ekco-invests-e4m-in-ai-security-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sharewatch.com\/wp\/2026\/08\/15\/ekco-invests-e4m-in-ai-security-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"Ekco invests \u20ac4m in AI security platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"medium-10 medium-offset-1 columns article-body\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-epic-field=\"content\">\n<p>European cybersecurity firm Ekco is investing \u20ac4m in the launch of an AI platform to help companies adopt AI securely.<\/p>\n<p>The company, headquartered in Dublin, is launching Ekco AI and says their platform will encourage safe AI exploration and save businesses \u20ac2M for every \u20ac10M of operating costs by boosting employee productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Ekco says its research has found that a typical business environment may have as many as 28 AI applications in use, leading to a &#8216;shadow AI&#8217; blind spot for employers who may not know which tools are in use, or how company data is being handled.<\/p>\n<p>It claims that Ekco AI is designed to address this by helping organisations to see what applications are being used, set clear guardrails, block potentially hazardous applications and reduce the risk of sensitive information being shared on unsanctioned systems.<\/p>\n<p>The launch comes days after transparency obligations under the EU AI Act came into force on 2nd August 2026, with more scheduled for 2027 and 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Steve MacNicholas, CEO, Ekco Ireland, said: &#8220;In reality, today\u2019s CIOs don\u2019t always know what AI platforms their employees are using.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ekco AI gives them that oversight and signals any applications that are potentially harmful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>European cybersecurity firm Ekco is investing \u20ac4m in the launch of an AI platform to help companies adopt AI securely.
