Over half a million passengers are due to travel through Dublin Airport across the August bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

According to Dubin Airport operator daa, 527,000 passengers are expected to fly in and out of the airport during the four-day weekend, making it one of the busiest weekends of the summer.<\/p>\n

Numbers are likely to exceed 134,000 on Friday and 129,000 on Saturday, while Sunday will be the busiest day of the weekend, with 136,000 passengers forecast to pass through the airport.<\/p>\n

A further 128,000 passengers are expected to travel on bank holiday Monday.<\/p>\n

The daa advised passengers to arrive at the airport in plenty of time, and check with their airline for the latest information on check-in and boarding times.<\/p>\n

Dublin Airport spokesman Graeme McQueen recommended people arrive at the airport two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul departure.<\/p>\n

“The August bank holiday weekend is always one of the busiest of the year, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more than half a million passengers through our terminals over the four-day period.<\/p>\n

“Our teams across the airport are ready to ensure passengers enjoy a smooth and efficient journey through the airport. As always, we’d recommend arriving at the airport two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul departure.”<\/p>\n

Mr McQueen added that although the August bank holiday weekend is among the busiest travel periods of the year, Dublin Airport has welcomed more than 100,000 passengers every day throughout the summer.<\/p>\n

“Indeed, on around 40 days this summer we have welcomed upwards of 120,000 passengers, with 95%+ of departing passengers getting through security screening in 20 minutes or less,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
