A “much-loved” music festival has been cancelled due to reduced ticket sales, rising costs and financial pressures, its organisers have said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Red Rooster festival was due to take place 28\u201330 May at Euston Estate, Suffolk, close to Thetford in Norfolk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

On its website, it said it had “not been possible to secure the funding required to deliver this year’s event” and it was “no longer financially viable”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Forty artists had been booked to take part in its 12th year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In a statement, it said the “much-loved festival” was “shaped by its community, returning supporters, artists, traders, crew and the very special setting at Euston Hall”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u200b”Due to a combination of reduced ticket sales, rising operational costs and ongoing financial pressures, it has not been possible to secure the funding required to deliver this year’s event,” it said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“These pressures have been compounded by the increasingly challenging environment for independent festivals, including inflation, higher fuel and transport costs, supply chain pressures and the impact of cost-of-living challenges on audiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u200b”Opus Restructuring & Insolvency has been engaged to advise the directors, with a view to placing the company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u200bIt apologised to everyone affected and said it was working with SeeTickets on the next step for ticket holders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When this year’s festival was announced, organisers said it would be “bigger, bolder, and louder than ever” and tickets were “flying”. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Artists booked to play included Valerie June, Bobby Rush and The Handsome Family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Tickets were priced at \u00a3154.50 for the weekend, which also included camping and parking.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
