Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline, relaunched its seasonal service between Dublin and Vancouver over the weekend.
The route resumption comes as Air Canada gears up for one of its busiest ever transatlantic schedules, with nearly 50 routes between Europe and Canada, including three from Dublin Airport.
As well as Vancouver, Air Canada offers summer seasonal flights from Dublin to Montréal and year-round flights to Toronto.
To mark the annual resumption of the Dublin-Vancouver route, Air Canada announced a further capacity increase on the route, in addition to the existing capacity increase announced in February of this year, due to increased demand for travel to British Columbia.
The airline has also extended the operating season of the route, from the originally planned June to September, to the extended season of May to October after the pause of Dublin Airport’s passenger cap.
Bláithín O’Donnell, Air Canada Sales Manager, Ireland, said the airline was seeing increased demand for services to Canada.
“We have slowly been increasing capacity throughout the year, in line with customer demand, but as the first flight of the season departed Dublin this weekend, we wanted to further strengthen our commitment to the market, by upping frequencies throughout the autumn,” she said.
