Wavin Ireland has announced plans to open a new logistics centre, customer facility and offices in north county Dublin.
The move comes as part of a new long-term partnership between the construction sector pipe manufacturer and logistics company, Ace Express Freight.
The collaboration will see a new site developed just off the M1 motorway at Turvey, Blakes Cross in north county Dublin, which will serve as the future centre for Wavin’s logistics and distribution operations in Ireland.
Wavin Ireland, which manufactures plastic pipes for plumbing, waste and sewer systems, roof drainage, stormwater management and underfloor heating products, currently employs 24 people directly and ten agency staff at its existing site in Balbriggan.
The company envisages that all staff will make the move to its new eight-acre site, which will be located just 13 kilometres from its existing operations.
Work on the site is expected to commence this summer and it is expected to be operational by the middle of next year.
As well as a logistics centre, the site will also include offices and a dedicated space for a new Wavin Academy.
The company has said that this academy will act as an “innovative training centre, that will allow industry professionals to discover Wavin’s building and infrastructure solutions and learn about new products and technologies.”
Wavin transferred its manufacturing activities from its site in Balbriggan to its plant in Chippenham, UK at the end of December 2024.

The move was announced last July as part of plans by its parent group, Orbia Building & Infrastructure to “improve asset utilisation and reduce complexity, while at the same time, enhancing local customer-facing locations”.
Wavin has said it remains firmly committed to the Irish market and its customers and it will maintain a strong customer-focused presence in Ireland from which it will continue to provide service, sell and supply solutions for building and infrastructure.
Wavin’s Commercial Director for UK & Ireland Michael O’Donohoe said today’s announcement marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the company.
“We are delighted to be partnering with the trusted expertise of Ace Express Freight to enhance our logistics capabilities. We are also pleased to be investing in new innovative spaces for our offices and customer training and experience centre, where we can create a great environment for collaboration.
“We are confident that these initiatives will set solid foundations for us to grow our Irish business well into the future,” Mr O’Donohoe added.
Meanwhile, Philip Tracey, CEO of Ace Express Freight, said: “We are delighted that Wavin has chosen us as their partner for this major development. This initiative will increase our warehouse and logistics space to over 500,000 square feet in the Fingal area, significantly enhancing our operational capacity.
“Once completed, this facility will not only support Wavin’s growth but also contribute to the local economy and job creation. We look forward to collaborating closely on this exciting project and driving mutual success.”
