Fuel and forecourt retailer Applegreen said today it plans to open four new Taco Bell restaurants before the end of the year, creating 80 new jobs.
The new outlets will bring the total Taco Bell network across the island of Ireland to nine.
Applegreen is adding Taco Bell restaurants at Swords Village and Inchicore in Dublin, at Tuam Road in Galway, and at Paulstown in Co Kilkenny.
Taco Bell at Applegreen Swords will open tomorrow, and the other three new outlets will be open before the end of the year.
The new additions mean that by the end of this year, Applegreen will have eight Taco Bell outlets in the Republic of Ireland and one in Northern Ireland.
Applegreen opened the country’s first Taco Bell last September as part of its €15m motorway services area at Junction 6 on the M3 in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.
It also currently operates Taco Bell restaurants at Ballincollig in Cork, at the new Naas Ball site in Co Kildare, and at two locations on the M1- Lusk North in Dublin, and Lisburn North in Co Antrim.
“Taco Bell has been hugely popular with our customers since we launched the brand in Ireland just over a year ago,” Seamus Stapleton, Managing Director of Applegreen’s Republic of Ireland business, said.
“We are continuing to grow Taco Bell in Ireland, and we are confident that these four new restaurants will offer our customers a wide range of exciting new tastes and menu options. Our partnership with Taco Bell is performing very well, and we will also be adding further new locations next year,” he added.
“Applegreen has been a key partner in Taco Bell’s growth in Ireland, bringing the experience and capabilities needed to scale our presence effectively,” Lucy Dee, Marketing Director Taco Bell UK and Ireland, said.
“We look forward to building on this momentum and reaching even more consumers, as Applegreen continues to expand Taco Bell’s footprint across the market,” she added.
Taco Bell, which is based in California, operates more than 8,700 restaurants worldwide.
