Global professional services firm Marsh said today that that its people and investments business Mercer will adopt the Marsh brand from September.

Mercer has been a business of Marsh since 1959. The company advises clients in 130 countries.

Marsh last year announced that all its businesses would unite under the Marsh brand to better reflect its collective capabilities, scale and impact with clients and in the broader marketplace.

Pat Tomlinson, CEO of Marsh People and Investments (formerly Mercer), said that in a world that is changing faster than ever, the company’s clients need the breadth of capabilities, insights and scale that they can access through Marsh.

“The expanded Marsh brand builds on everything that has made Mercer great – our deep expertise, specialisation and our unparalleled data, across health and benefits, investments and retirement, and workforce and rewards,” he said.

“Under a unified brand, we will be able to have a more visible impact for our colleagues, clients, and communities across the world,” he added.

John Mercer, CEO of Marsh in Ireland, said the transition creates an even stronger connection for the company’s Irish clients to the breadth of Marsh.

“By bringing together deep expertise across risk, strategy, people and investments, we can take a more connected view of the opportunities and increasingly complex challenges our clients face. It means we can bring the right combination of insights, capabilities, and solutions to help them achieve their ambitions,” he added.
