Bank of Ireland has appointed James Magill as its Chief People Officer.

Mr Magill will start his new role in November and will also join the bank’s Group Executive Committee.

He joins from Vodafone, where he most recently served as Human Resources Director for Vodafone EU Markets and Group Commercial.

James has held a number of senior leadership roles at Vodafone and Accenture across Ireland, the UK, Europe and New Zealand.

Myles O’Grady, Group Chief Executive at Bank of Ireland, said Mr Magill will play a leading role in shaping the people and culture agenda that enables the delivery of the bank’s strategy across the group.

“His experience and leadership will be particularly important as we evolve and simplify as an organisation, while continuing to build an inclusive, high-performing culture where colleagues can do their best work and thrive,” the CEO added.
