Delivery firm DPD Ireland said today that a €10m investment by the company to expand its warehousing and logistics capabilities will create 200 jobs.

DPD said the expansion is driven by continued strong performance across all areas of its business, including next-day delivery, logistics services and Out of Home solutions.

The company is investing €10m in developing a second distribution hub, which will be located at Gateway Logistics Park, Newlands Cross on the Naas Road in Dublin 22.

It said the “strategic expansion” will enable DPD Ireland to meet increasing parcel volumes and further enhance service capacity nationwide.

DPD said the new 200 jobs will be in the areas of operations, drivers and administration.

The company will also introduce 270 autonomous robots to replace its conveyor operations and enhance its sorting capabilities. As a result, up to 10,000 parcels will be handled every hour.

The new distribution hub will be fully operational by October 2026.

“This expansion is a direct result of the 99% service level we consistently deliver to our customers. Their trust and continued support have enabled our growth across all areas of the business,” DPD’s chief executive Des Travers said.

“This new hub strongly positions us to meet rising parcel delivery demand and ensures that we continue to provide the high level of service that our customers expect, year-round. It is an exciting step forward for DPD Ireland as we build for the future,” he added.
