Sustainable energy supplier SE Systems has announced the creation of 150 jobs over the next two years.
The investment includes the opening of a new headquarters in Cork, as well as the expansion of the company’s office in Dublin and regional hubs in Clare, Donegal and Louth.
The new jobs will be in the areas of engineering, project management, energy services, software and digital technologies, operations, technical support and business development.
SE Systems retrofits homes and businesses, including handling grant applications for solar and heat pump installation.
The company currently employs 112 staff and has retrofitted almost 15,000 homes and 2,000 commercial buildings since 2010.
The expansion being announced today is a part of a growth strategy that will see annual turnover increase from €50m to €100m by 2030.
SE Systems said the expansion comes as demand from homeowners, communities and businesses for solar and energy retrofit schemes continues to soar.
“Our investment in Cork, expansion in Dublin and development of partnerships nationwide will allow us to support more organisations and communities as they reduce energy costs, improve sustainability performance and transition towards a low-carbon future,” said co-founder and CEO John O’Leary.
The announcement of the 150 jobs was made by EU Commissioner Michael McGrath, who officially opened the company’s new Cork headquarters.
“SE Systems is a prime example of a home-grown business going from strength to strength,” Mr McGrath said.
“The creation of 150 jobs is welcome news in any sector, but especially in the renewable and green economy,” he added.
