Flogas is the latest utility provider to announce an increase in its electricity and gas prices from next month.
Flogas said that residential electricity bills for customers on its standard variable price plans will increase by 10.9%, which equates to an increase of €4.11 per week.
Residential gas bills for customers on standard variable price plans will increase by 11.8%, equating to €3.47 per week.
Flogas said the price hikes will apply only to customers on its variable price plans and will not impact customers currently on its fixed-rate contracts.
The price increases come into effect from 20 July.
The company said that continued volatility in global energy markets, coupled with geopolitical tensions and sustained pressures across the energy market, means the increases are now necessary.
Flogas Commercial Director Ken O’Byrne said the company’s priority has been to protect customers from increases wherever possible and consistently absorb the cost for as long as it can.
“However, given the continued volatility in energy markets driven by the ongoing geopolitical tensions, we are now unfortunately unable to delay this increase any further,” he said.

He said that Flogas fully recognises that any price increase is unwelcome news for customers, particularly in the current cost of living environment, adding that it remains committed to closely monitoring market conditions and accessing future opportunities within the energy market to deliver value to our customers wherever possible.
“We also remain committed to providing a range of customer supports including energy efficiency advice, flexible payment options, budget management tools and access to targeted assistance for customers who may need additional support,” he added.
Electric Ireland last month said it would raise its residential electricity prices by 8% from 1 July, with gas prices rising by 7.7% at the same time.
It followed a price increase by PrePayPower at the start of May, while both Energia and SSE Airtricity raised their residential energy prices in late 2025.
