Aer Lingus is now accepting applications for its 2025 Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship Programme.

The airline said it’s looking for applicants with a strong technical and mechanical interest to submit their application before the closing date – 28 February.

The four-year programme offers hands-on experience while working towards becoming fully qualified Aircraft Engineers.

The programme is run in conjunction with SOLAS – the State’s further education and training agency based in Shannon, Technological University Dublin, and the South East Technological University.

Aer Lingus and SOLAS provides a structured pay scale throughout the four years years.

The apprenticeship will begin in Dublin, followed by nine months spent in Shannon.

Apprentices will then return to Dublin where they will be working alongside experienced Aer Lingus engineers, while simultaneously studying in TUD or SETU to complete modules for their EASA license.

Upon completing their apprenticeships, graduates will have the opportunity to launch their careers within Aer Lingus’ Maintenance & Engineering department.

Graduates will get the change to work on aircraft such as the A320 Classic, the latest A321 XLR, and the A330.

“Aer Lingus’ Apprentice Programme has a long history of equipping successful candidates with the skills they need to thrive in the aviation engineering industry,” said Javier Jimenez, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Aer Lingus.

“We encourage all interested candidates to apply as soon as possible. This apprenticeship is a gateway to a rewarding career in the aviation industry, offering invaluable experience and a clear path to permanent employment at one of Ireland’s leading airlines,” he added.

Candidates can apply online via the Aer Lingus website until 28 February, by submitting a CV application.

The airline said applicants must be at least 18 years old by 1 September 2025.
