Shannon Airport is expecting 60,000 passengers over the upcoming August Bank Holiday weekend, up 10% on the same period last year.
This reflects the airport’s strong performance so far this year, with over one million passengers recorded in the first six months, up 7% on last year.
“We’re delighted to see such strong demand this August Bank Holiday period,” said Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group.
“The increase in passenger numbers is a clear sign that our investments in connectivity, infrastructure and customer experience are paying off.
“Shannon is thriving, and we’re proud to be playing a key role in supporting tourism and business across the region,” she added.
The airport is advising passengers travelling over the long weekend to arrive two hours before short-haul flights and three hours before long-haul departures.
“It is also strongly advised to pre-book parking via shannonairport.ie ahead of what will be an exceptionally busy weekend,” the airport said.
