IKEA is launching seven new “Click and Collect” sites, in collaboration with Tesco Ireland, around the country.
The seven new locations, across counties Louth, Westmeath, Kerry, Wicklow, Mayo and Dublin, will provide customers with an accessible collection service where customers can pick up their IKEA orders from their local Tesco store carpark.
After a successful pilot programme in Cork, Louth and Kildare in May 2023, IKEA said its new service has experienced “phenomenal engagement”, leading to an expansion to 21 locations nationwide.
The service allows customers to pick-up their IKEA orders for free if the order is over €200, while orders under €200 will cost €15. Customers can collect their IKEA order from a designated area within their local Tesco car park.
The new collection points are in Dundalk in Co Louth, Mullingar in Co Westmeath, Killarney in Co Kerry, Arklow and Bray in Co Wicklow, Castlebar in Co Mayol and Liffey Valley in Dublin.
They join the collection points in Clonmel in Co Tipperary, Drogheda in Co Louth, Naas in Co Kildare, Wexford town, Mitchelstown in Co Cork, Carlow town, Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim, Limerick City, Newcastlewest in Co Limerick, Ballinasloe in Co Galway, Youghal in Co Cork, Wilton Shopping centre in Cork city, Headford in Co Galway and Tramore in Co Waterford.
Jayne Owen-Gauld, IKEA Market Manager in Ireland, said the company was incredibly proud of its partnership with Tesco Ireland, which has allowed it to bring convenient and affordable collection services, including its “Click and Collect” option, to customers across key locations.
“The positive reception has been fantastic and resulting in us expanding the service to seven more communities,” she added.
Darrin Honer, Country Operations Manager, Tesco Ireland, said the company was pleased to expand its partnership with IKEA Ireland to introduce new pick-up points in more of its car parks across the country.
“Some months into this partnership, we are seeing just how convenient this offering is for customers, who are pairing picking up their IKEA order with doing their weekly shop or picking up their ‘Click and Collect’ order,” he added.
