Jim Woulfe has been appointed as the new Chair of Enterprise Ireland after serving as Interim Chair since last June.
He succeeds Michael Carey, who stepped down as chairman of the enterprise body in June after his company, East Coast Bakehouse, failed to file its accounts on time.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke highlighted the extensive enterprise leadership and governance experience Mr Woulfe will bring to the role, particularly his deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Irish businesses.
“Jim brings a proven track record in corporate governance, strategic leadership and enterprise development, skills that are essential in strengthening Ireland’s enterprise base, creating employment and supporting companies to compete internationally,” the Minister said.
Mr Woulfe served as chief executive of Dairygold Co‑Operative Society until his retirement in December 2021 after 42 years with the organisation.
