US firm Canto, which provides digital asset management software for organisations worldwide, is expanding its operations at its innovation centre in Cork.
The company’s investment in its Cork operations, supported by IDA Ireland, will create 50 jobs.
Canto said the Cork office will serve as a strategic European hub for several core initiatives, including advanced AI research, cloud infrastructure optimisation, frontend modernisation, and the continued development of its unified DAM and product information management (PIM) platform.
The company also plans to partner with local universities and research institutions to foster innovation and develop specialised talent pipelines.
Canto serves about 4,000 customers globally across industries including retail, manufacturing, healthcare, education, technology and beyond.
“This investment reflects our commitment to staying ahead of the curve in digital asset management,” Brendan Butler, Managing Director at Canto Ireland, said.
“Working with IDA Ireland has been instrumental in making this expansion possible. By connecting with Ireland’s world-class technology community, we’re able to accelerate the development of solutions that directly address our customers’ most pressing content management challenges,” he added.
“As we continue to expand our global engineering efforts, Ireland is proving to be an essential part of our success story. Our continued expansion underscores our confidence in the exceptional technical talent and innovation ecosystem here,” Wain Kellum, CEO of Canto, said.
“Our Cork operations will play a pivotal role in driving next-generation product development and supporting customers across the entire content ecosystem – from creation to delivery,” he added.
Michael Lohan, the CEO of IDA Ireland, said that Canto’s decision to grow its presence in Cork is a strong endorsement of the country’s reputation as a leading hub for innovative technology companies.
“Our deep talent pool, stable business environment, and strong track record in supporting global companies make Ireland an attractive location for growth and innovation,” the IDA boss added.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism & Employment Peter Burke said that Canto’s investment reinforces Ireland’s position as a leader in AI and software development.
“The Cork region, with its strong educational institutions like University College Cork and Munster Technological University, provides an excellent environment for fostering innovation and developing specialised talent, and IDA Ireland provides invaluable support to companies seeking to utilise this ecosystem,” Mr Burke said.
“As we continue to expand our global engineering efforts, Ireland is proving to be an essential part of our success story. Our continued expansion underscores our confidence in the exceptional technical talent and innovation ecosystem here,” said Wain Kellum, CEO of Canto. “As demand for our single-source-of-truth digital asset management solutions continues to accelerate, our Cork operations will play a pivotal role in driving next-generation product development and supporting customers across the entire content ecosystem — from creation to delivery.”
