PTSB said it is working to resolve a technical issue that has impacted the bank’s website and mobile app.

Some customers have said that attempts to open the app are met with a message stating “timeout error”, other users are receiving a message stating that the app is unavailable due to “scheduled maintenance”.

Customers have taken to social media to highlight their frustrations.

“Can you let your customers know what’s happening please. App down, site down, can’t get through on phone and no info anywhere,” one person wrote on X.

In a statement, PTSB said it is currently experiencing a technical issue which is intermittently impacting access to its mobile app and website for some of its customers.

“We are working on resolving this as quickly as possible and apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused,” the bank said.

Last November, PTSB customers experienced payment delays due to a major technical issue with a third-party provider.

In March, announcing its results for 2024, Chief Executive Eamonn Crowley said the bank has invested heavily in technology in recent years.

“We’ve invested €400m in the bank in the last five years, the vast majority in that is in the technology space,” Mr Crowley said.
