Spending by Revolut customers jumped 17% this St Patrick’s weekend compared to last year.
New data shows that over €150m was spent by Irish customers across 6.8m transactions during this year’s celebrations.
Hospitality businesses such as bars, cafes, and restaurants saw the biggest spending jump over the weekend. Customers spent 15.5% more in these venues compared to 2024.
Sales of store-bought beer, wine, and liquor fell 9% compared with the volume of payments recorded across the 2024 weekend, suggesting more people ventured out versus staying in.
Meanwhile, spending on taxis increased, with transactions up 8.5% on the same time last year.
